Now let's check out the inspiration from our DT.
As you can see our talented team have been busy working their creative/mixed media magic for you .....

This month we have had a fabulous Guest Designer joining us!
We love her creative work and are thrilled to have her with us, so here's a little insight into our fab Guest Designer:
Tina de Marche...
make sure you check out her blog HERE..... Thanks so much for all your amazing work in the past few weeks Tina, we've loved seeing your amazing inspiration!

Tina...This is my last Guest project for WeLove2Create, I have really enjoyed it.  This image was colored with colored pencils.  I sprayed the canvas with some inks and added a little bit of texture with some molding paste and stencils.  Metal, chipboard, gems, leather, twine, embossing powders, paints and inks were use in this creation.
Terry: Hey there guys, this time I made a Butterfly card for your inspiration, I have worked on the background with Distress Oxides, the butterflies from Nikky's Stampset Belle Papillon are colored with the Distress Oxides too. The sentiments in the background are from the Stampset Papillon and the little detaills in the background are from the Reagal Peacock stampset. Everything Polkadoodles, love it The tiny detailled stamps are so versatile and easy to use for your Mixed Medium Project, you should really try it out.
Julia I have used the gorgeous new Posy Doodles, Honey Daisy stamp set I stamped onto rice paper and then adhered to a plastic jar. I then used some twine to wrap around the top of the jar. I stamped out loads of the flowers and coloured them using my Ecoline pens, and fussy cut them & used them to embellish the jar. Full details on my blog.

Gemma
Something new for me this month, I had never made something using these techniques before and if I am very honest I am not sure it was a success but it is always good to try something new to push your self in whatever you are doing so I thought I would share it with you all anyway.  I stamped the lovely butterflies from the Belle Papillon stamp set onto Belle Papillon paper and coloured them in before gluing it to an acrylic frame, which I then filled with layers of melted embossing powder and glitter.
WINNERS FROM CHALLENGE 8 Thankyou everyone who entered this challenge - we really loved looking round your blogs, you all left us some awesome work to pore over!

Awesome tutorial from Gemma!

Happy Sunday everyone and you are all in for a treat as we have a wonderful tutorial from gemma today. Before you whizz down to the tutorial, please remember that you have up to 31st December to enter this months challenge, (Challenge #3) - details HERE - and if you fancy being a GDT for Love 2 Create, add GDT after your name when entering your project.

Now over to Gemma ...

I have a fun Christmas/winter canvas to share with you all today, I love making this kind of project, it is not too time-consuming and the process is fairly simple to recreate in lots of different sizes and on different bases.

I printed out a few background sheets from the wonderful Polkadoodles Festive Christmas collection, Keeping in mind that I wanted papers for the sky and ground as well as different patterns on cardstock for the trees.

Then I tore my sky papers into little squares and glued them to the canvas with a mat gel medium, I covered about two-thirds of the canvas, not worrying about the edges as I had already decided I was adding a painted frame.
I tore the ground papers into stripes, giving then a curved shape and I glues them to the canvas in the same way.

Before cutting my printed card into triangles and some scrap card into rectangles for my trees, I went around all the edges of the papers that were glued down with my Pitt brush pens and blended the ink with my fingers. This helps to bring everything together and make it feel like one piece.

After my trees were glued into place, I edged them with the same pens. At this point, I also stamped out and glued my chosen text onto the canvas and edged them as well.

I then took a lovely wintery themed stencil from my stash that reminds me of snow falling and applied texture paste through it onto the canvas. before the paste could dry I sprinkled glitter over the top.

Then I just needed to frame it and I did this by adding brown paint to texture paste, I applied it to the canvas with a palette knife, which gave me the effect of a very rustic bumpy imperfect frame.

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial, there is still plenty of time to join in this months challenge. We love seeing what everyone is making.

Alysha - Happy Fathers Day and time to play with your pans my first offering this week obviously has to do with Fathers Day and I have created a canvas using several shades of blue Pans and then created the heart, splattered paint and added a sentiment to it. This has been made as a gift from my daughter to her daddy.

My second offering is a Vintage Card using Permanent Red Pan Pastel in varying degrees of subtlety throughout the card

So join us and let us see your projects for this week!
Hugs Aly xx

Terry: I had loads of fun altering a photoframe for my colleque. Remember the notebook with that stunning image in it? Well this is for her mother, she misses her girl that much, so I thought I would make a frame for her with her daughter in it. I did not make the image though, that was made by an artist. I made the frame. I started out with metall foil and embossed it. I added alcohol inks and loads of PanPastels on it and tried to make it look old. I think that worked out great, don't you think.....
So the background was done with lots of PanPastels, the inside was colored with PanPastels too, I worked with the Metallic PanPastels I just love them cause they give such a rich colour to your project, very nice shimmery colour.

For decorations I used a butterfly die and embossed that one too with the Metall Foil. Than I just had to colour it with the Metallic Pans too....and last but not least I placed the Pennib on top of it.
You wanna see more pictures.....than I suggest you check out my blog just click my name and it will take you there.

I WILL ADD THE PRODUCTS TONIGHT with the Thumblinky

Claire C I've been playing with my Pans to colour this lovely lady. Pans are brilliant for faces and hair as they blend so easily it's really quick work

Squared....

Good morning lovely friends - Kassa here Kassa Hayselden - the newbie on the block!!!
Soooo happy to be here - tis my first post up over here as a dt guest member (sorry teamies for taking so, soooooo long to pop up here and thanks for your help along the way :-)))

Now I loooooves to dabble in a bit of this and a bit of that - but it usually veers towards the mixed-media/altered stuff.....and on that note....tah dah....

A zesty, springtime inspired chunky canvas, very mixed media.....hope you enjoy the colours and they give you all a springlike lift :-))))

Plus for all you craft-aholics out there go join in the new We love 2 create blog challenge 9 -anything-creative mixed-media goes! - I'm sure you've just created a little something or are about to - so why not go link it HERE at the bottom of the post - tis that simple and you could win a PanPastel goodie bag from our lovely sponsors over at Premium Craft Brands

So I started painting a sheet of dry-waxed deli paper, aqua, turquoise, lime.  When dry I haphazardly painted on lavender squares (approx 2" x 2")
When dry the doodle magic starts - this is the fun part and can let you drift off into a world of your own.....
Once all the painty and doodle bits are finished and totally dry I add the PanPastels, the shades I used were Bright-Yellow-GreenPermanent-GreenVioletHansa-Yellow - I apply them with the various Sofft tools, these are great as they don't leave defined edges of the pastels as you work and they have a fab selection of tools to work with - from the smallest of tools for the fine/fiddly bits to big tools to cover larger areas x  Once the PanPastels have worked their magic I carefully re-highlight doodles where necessary and then spray the whole sheet with a light coat of fixative spray
***(btw my doodle pens are water resistant because I use the fixative spray and I don't want them to 'bleed')

....SO, my daughter Chloe spied this mixed-media deli paper on my facebook page and asked if I could use it on a canvas (it was previously meant for another project lol)......

I coated a 8" x 8" canvas 1.5" deep
I gave the canvas a coat of white gesso on it's front and sides.
Then cut out a 8" x 8" square of my doodled deli paper, coated the backside of this and the front of the canvas with matt gel (coating both surfaces with the matt gel glue stops the air bubbles appearing)

I always add a little extra detail, so always make sure I have a little extra doodle paper left, I adhered strips down the sides (even managed to line up the pattern hahaha :-))) the other sides I simply covered with the painted deli paper minus the doodles (makes for a more interesting look and allows the eyes a little rest from the doodle fest)
I also got out my Singer sewing machine and sewed around 3 panels of the doodle squares which I had previously adhered with the matt gel onto card stock and let dry...
I then adhered the 3 sewed squares to the canvas with a 1/4" layer of Light-Modelling-Paste (for a 3d effect)

Voila - my Chloe loooooves her canvas - phew!!!

Give-away.....
Tis a postcard from me to you with said deli paper doodles.....

I just love sending and receiving hand-made postcards, something magical about it....especially when they've got the franked stamps on them eeeek!!!

I'll post anywhere in the world

simply just...
comment below with your name (so I can contact you if your the lucky winner)

AND use the word ''POSTCARD'' (so I know you would like to be in it to win it lol.......)
Off for a cuppa now...
Mwah xoxo
Kassa
(have a beautiful day everyone :-)))
