'Embossing'
so dig out those embossing folder or dust off your heat gun and play along to be in with a chance of winning some gorgeous goodies from Premium Craft Brands! Our lucky winner will win a fabby stencil and a PanPastel too (colours may vary)
As always you've got two weeks to enter so there's lots of time and if you're stuck for ideas we'll be back next week with lots more inspiration and of course to announce the lucky winner and Top 3 from our last challenge too!
Now lets see what the DT have been up to this week, if you look closely you'll see that there are some sneaky peeks of the gorgeous new Pearlescent PanPastels and some awesome new mediums that will be available soon!!
Doreen I have used the new Pearlescent colours for this tag today.six new yummy colours have been released...I started by putting my tag through my bigshot using my heart dies, instead of cutting I embossed it.I coloured the outside a different colour from the inside of the heart.I then cut a smaller heart and put that through the dotty embossing folder and coloured that....Next I stamped my sentiment with black Archival over some card that I coloured with my Pans. I inked all the edges with Black Soot Distress ink and last of all doodled around the edges.xxx
Yvonne - my interpretation of this theme was heat embossing. You can find all the details on my blog. I appreciate your visits and comments.
Nikky...This week I saw a fabulous blog where someone had coloured in a stamped image with Pan Pastels and it was fantastic - I thought it was Distress Inks at first but no, she is a real Pan Pastel fan and when I shared it with the rest of the team we all instantly wanted to have a go! I thought it was going to be so much more difficult than it was. I know the challenge is embossing - and I did, honestly!! I've used an embossing folder for the background of my card but I really wanted to share this with you....I did faff about a long time but that was purely because I was experimenting a bit...
They key to this is the paper and the brush I think. I used my Ultimate Graphic paper which is mega smooth and purpose built for alcohol markers and a Daler Rowney soft brush. I did the face first which was so easy - just Burnt sienna and permanent red for the cheeks! At this point I kinda swooned and went for the hair. Bit trickier but after mixing it around a bit it was a mix of dry brushing and adding tiny bits of water to get more definition in the darkest areas. I just used violet and Dark Grey for this (sadly I didnt have black). Mix it with some of the Pearlescent black medium to make it stand out even more, the mediums are fabulous.
Once I got the hair the rest was pretty simple and VERY fast to do - just nice big sweeps of violet and adding shadows with dark grey. For the greens I used a mix of Chromium di-wotsit and Yellow to brighten it a little. I was a little messy around the edges because I wasn't too bothered about keeping my work area clean so I then just mixed up a suitable background to hide it all. But to be honest - even the cleanest crafter could use Pan Pastels this way and not get the background too smudgey.
You can get all the colours I used from Your Creativity Store HERE - they have an amazing special offer on right now!
Claire C I've had loads of fun using my PanPastels and Maimeri Mat Gel Medium to create this faux leather notebook, all the details are on my blog
Tracy - Such fun I had, stamping and heat embossing on this little chunk of wood for today's challenge.
Painting has never been so much fun, I used the brand new Pearlescent Pan Pastels { oh my you are going to love them
} along with a few Metallic Pans, Pan Pastels and Maimeri Gesso.
I wish
my photograph picked up the shimmer on the background for you to see,
it`s all beautiful and sparkly in between a scattering of more Embossing powder.
Terry, I had fun making a wall hanger with allmost all the colours from the NEW Pearlescent PanPastels, I worked on the background with Gesso, Light Modelling Paste and the Spiderweb Dutch Doobadoo Stencil. I colored the background with Green Pearl, Red Pearl, Blue Pearl, Violet Pearl and White COARSE and Black Fine Pearl PanPastels. Offcourse I could not resist playing with some butterflies, they say I am the butterfly queen, lol....The butterflies are embossed with a dot embossingstencil and colored with the Red and Violet Pearl PanPastels. And to cover it all up I used the Iridescent Paste as the final layer. And last but not least I placed some sentiments to finish my project for this weeks challenge.
Lou: I created my embossed background using my pan pastels, light modeling paste and some glitter (I'm normally a glitter-phobe). I then die cut some Christmas elements and have aged them a little with my parlescent pink and white pan pastels. The stamped bauble images have also had the pan pastel treatment.
Anjie - As you can see I have used some of the fab Masks as embossing folders and then used some Pan Pastels to distress them. The image is Piper with bunches from Polkadoodles and is coloured with Graph'It Markers.
The PCB products I have used are:
