Challenge 9 - "Anything Creative/Mixed Media goes" We Love 2 Create/Pan PAstel Craft Challenge

Have you noticed our new page header and name?

So what has changed? Nothing major except that we have decided that because we all use a range of materials to create our projects,  all our future challenges will now be ...

Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes

This means you can enter anything you like as long as you have used some kind of medium on your project - this can be Pan Pastels, pastels, inks, paints, water colouring, alcohol inks, colouring with alcohol markers, using mediums such as gesso, acrylic paints, texture pastes etc etc
you get the picture!
We are very lucky to sponsored by Premium Art Brands and Your Creativity Store and therefore decided that our challenge will embrace all the wonderful products they sell. This has meant we can open the challenge to a wider audience of crafters from inky peeps, pan pastel lovers, painters, colourers, mixed media artists, upcyclers, journal lovers, crafters/artists who use a bit of the latter .... and the list goes on and on!

Why not join us on our facebook page -
Love to create with Premium Art Brands
 How will the challenges work?
Each challenge will run for 2 weeks starting 08.00 Sunday to midnight on Saturday 2 weeks later. Week one will introduce the challenge and week two will be an inspiration/reminder post. Winners for each previous challenge will be announced on the inspiration post. There will be a randomly chosen winner and a Top 3 chosen by the DT.

So let the challenge begin ......
"Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes"

So to reiterate, you can enter anything you like as long as you have used some kind of medium on your project - this can be Pan Pastels, pastels, Inks, paints, water colouring, alcohol inks, colouring with alcohol markers, using mediums such as gesso, acrylic paints, texture pastes etc etc !

You have until 8th May to enter the challenge and we will select a Random Winner who will receive a Pan Pastel goodie bag from those lovely folks at Premium Craft Brands

We don't have many rules but you can find them in the rules page above or
up in the tabs at the top of the page /\

Let's see what the DT have "whipped up" for you ...

Lou: I have created a "scene" using some gorgeous floral papers, pan pastels, Premium Art Brand stamps, Postcard and my new obsession, Stampbord.

Product details and links

Yvonne - This is a tag I made using a technique I really love which is where I colour the background then put it in an embossing folder and go over the raised parts with a darker colour of Panpastels to make it pop.  The ribbon is coloured with Panpastels too!

Claire C I've made a a pendant using Stampbord, PanPastels and some of the gorgeous stamps from Premium Craft Brands. You can find all the details on my blog

Unfortunately Terry can not play with us this challenge as she has had a knee operation. Everyone on the DT wishes her a speedy recovery and reminds her to REST UP! However, Terry did share stage one of her project with us and here it is ....

Terry has been playing with stampbord and Premium Art brand stamps, Roses and STOP. This is the first stage of her project.

Nikky...I've been playing with Stampbord this week making samples and demos for our Create & Craft TV launch, will SOLD OUT, whoop whoop!! I have to confess I was one of the many many peeps who bought some Stampbord 12 years or so ago, had a little play with it but because it was SO expensive i put it away in my precious drawer never to see the light of day again...until now that is! HELLOOOOOO!! I'm not a big jewellery maker, I dabble and can string a chain and jump rings together but that's about my lot but I just couldn't stop making stuff once I started haha! So I made this charm bracelet which must have cost me all of about £1 to make I think, I got the chain for the bracelet from ebay for peanuts and the charms are just from my stash. I really wanted to use the little 1" pieces to prove to myself there was loads of things that can be done with them. I just coloured the pieces with Pan Pastels and then stamped and sealed using UTEE. I kinda love it - the paper flowers were added because it looked bare and I didnt have time to make loads more pieces as this was a TV sample but I might go back and change it up again.

Terry; I thought I would get my Metallic Pans out and work with them on a round jewelry box, I tried to make it a shabby chic one, hope you like what I did with it. For the first layer I used Gesso and played with the DD stencil with Light Modelling Paste. I think they are essential for starting your project. Than I colored the box with Metallic Pans and painted it all with Mat Gel Medium. To decorate my Box I stamped a butterfly and messed it up a bit with Crackle, got me some roses and made the hearts with the empty board from DD, colored them with Metallic Pans and to finish I glued a little heart on top of the box and placed some lace all around it.

The products I worked with are:
