WK 1- Anything Goes/frosty finish - Pan Pastel UK Challenge

Happy New Year!
We hope you are all rested and recovered from all the festivities and ready and up for a whole brand new year of challenges haha!

Firstly the whole team would like to say a huge thankyou to you all for checking in with us each week and for all the lovely comments you all leave - you inspire us to keep trying new things so you are an integral part of what we do here on the blog. 2014 is going to be a great year for Pan Pastels and for Premium Craft Brands with lots of new products and exciting developments so we can't wait to get stuck in!

Firstly, let's get last year's business done and dusted...
The random winner of our Week 51 challenge is
#7 Mags - well done Mags! Email us here to claim your prize!
Our Top 3 faves from Week 51 are: #6 Craftyfield, #10 Julie Short and #3 Doreen
Well done everyone and make sure you all grab your blinkies from the sidebar! Thanks so much for entering the challenge!

Don't forget, you don't have to use Pan Pastels or any of the Premium Craft Brands products to enter our challenges but we'd love it if you could show us projects where you do use them!

So, onto this week...As always our challenge for you at home is
Anything Goes,
but for the Design Team they were all asked to create a
Frosty Finish
This means really we are asking them to produce snow or frost effects using either Pan Pastels or any of the Premium Crafts product lines.
They produced some stunning effects and we know you guys at home will have some great ones to show us too so let's see what y'all got!

You have until Tues 14th Jan to enter this challenge so you have LOADS of time and the winner will win a super stash of Premium Crafts goodies including Pan Pastels, Mediums, Masks and who knows what else!

We don't really do loads of rules here but we do have a couple so please take note:
1. No backlinks
2. Only 2 entries to make it fair for everyone
3. We'd love you to TRY and play along with the challenge if you can although it's not a hard and fast rule but extra brownie points are awarded to those who do.
4. The main prize can only be posted to a UK address.
And remember - our Top 3 is eligible for the running to be offered a place as a forthcoming Guest designer too!

So let's see what the team made!...

Claire  I've altered a little wooden birdhouse, Its coloured with white and Raw Umber PanPastels and then added a frosty finish with lots of Maimeri Pearl white paint, glassy gel and gesso. The birdy was made with Maimeri Light Modelling Paste and coloured with pewter acrylic paint. The icicles are a mix of Maimeri glassy gel and glitter, left to dry and die cut with an icicle die.

Tracy - Hi everyone, today I have a quick recycled tag to share with you all using . . .
Maimeri Gesso, Metallic Pan Pastels, Phthalo Blue Shade Pan along with . . .
. . . a little sprinkling of German Glitter Glass for an extra frosty feel.

Lou: I've gone in a different direction with my "Frosty Finish" and my focus was on the colours associated with "frost". I have used different diecuts embossed with the Barok 12" border stencil and coloured them using a versamark pen, metallic silver and soft blue pan pastels. Full details are on my blog.

Terry I worked on a box and made it a Frosty one, I started out with Gesso, Modelling Paste, Glossy Gel, Iridescent paste, worked on it with the heartshaped stencil, embossing powder, lace, wendy vecchi butterfly, just loveeeeeeeeeee this one, Crackle accents, blue panpastel and the Silver Metallic PanPastel.

Zoe   I've created my backgrounds with Pan Pastels check out my blog for more.
