ta da!!! Sue the Iron!
Well done Sue, you've won some fab Pan Pastel goodies so please email us to claim your prize!
Our favourite Top 3 from Week 45 are:

So let's get to the challenge this week - as you know, Premium Art Brands bring us some amazing products, including the fantastic quality Maimeri Mediums....so our challenge this week to the team is:

*Mixing It up*....
the team were asked to mix their Pan Pastels with some kind of medium or fluid, which could be anything they wished from water to crackle glaze to Maimeri...the choice is theirs, and YOURS. We realise not everyone has medium ready at hand at home so if you'd like to join in this challenge you can enter any make you wish but we'll give you extra brownie points if you join in the challenge too so show us what you can do, we know you all have some awesome talents up your messy sleeves!

The winner of this challenge will be chosen at random and announced on 8th December and you'll win £30 of Premium Arts goodies! You have until 3rd December at noon to enter!

So let's get on with the challenge and the stunning inspiration from the team...

Zoe - I have mixed Bright Yellow Green Ex Dark PanPastels with Glassy Medium and put it through a mask.  Please pop along to my blog to find out more....

Claire I've used Permanent Red and Black PanPastels to create the music script for the Christmas Tree. The background was made by mixing silver PanPastel with water in a mini mister and spritzing the black card - once it was dry I stamped snowflakes with versamark ink and then applied Rich Gold PanPastel over the top....
Terry ...I altered a photo frame and had lots of fun with making my own background for the frame. I worked with Gesso, the Metallic Acrylic Mediums, crackle, Metallic PanPastels and Utee on the flowers together with embossing powder and inks. So lots of mixing with fluids me thinks xxxx
Suzi I decided to create a mini canvas, using Maimeri Iridescent Paste, Magenta Pan Pastels and my Graph'It Markers. I used the Iridescent Paste to create my embellishments as well as to colour my canvas, such a wonderful versatile product.

So there is our inspiration from the fabulously talented Pan Pastel UK team this week!...
You have until Tuesday 3rd December at noon GMT to enter below by adding your creation to Mr Linky below - don't forget you have the chance to win a fabulous prize!

Claire C I've used lots of Metallic PanPastels on my little canvas, The background was made with Magenta Shade and I've used Maimeri Light Modelling Paste and more metallic Pans through a gorgeous Pronty mask to create the background. I've used PanPAstels to colour lots of embellies: ribbon, lace, die cuts. I've also used light gold PanPastel to give a subtle shimmer to the main image too.

Zoe....
Terry The background of my MDF word HOME is worked on with Metall Foil which is embossed, on top worked on with the fabulous Metallic PanPastels and on top of that finished with Iridescent Paste, the little hearts and butterflies have a layer of Versa Mark ink and Metallic PanPastels. To finish the project I placed a piece of lace on the bottom.
Suzi I combined White and Kraft Card with Pastel tones of Pan Pastels, Light Modelling Paste, and a beautiful mask to create this pretty card.
Tracy - Hi everyone, this is my first time attempting this technique using Maimeri Mediums/Gels, Doily Mask Stencil, Metallic Pan Pastels and embellishments. More details can be found on my blog HERE.

I've altered a box that used to once house nail varnishes. I have used Gesso to prime the box, Maimeri modelling pastewith my newest favourite mask from PAB, A4 flower (to create the raised pattern) and finally sealed everything with Glassy Gel. Everything has been coloured with pan pastels and metallic pan pastels. I have ecen coloured the metal letters with metallic pan pastels! Full details are on my blog.

Zoe
I've altered some playing cards using Pan Pastels, various Maimeri mediums and Metallic Pan Pastels. Check out my blog for more info. http://zoeblingcards.blogspot.co.uk/.

Claire C
I've used lots of metallic PanPastels on this altered frame and little picture. I used gesso to prime the frame and gave it a coat of Bronze Maimeri Acrylic pant. I and then coloured the crackle medium with Rich Gold PanPasel. I stamped the image with versamark and applied Copper and Bronze PanPastel over the top, adding some glitter for a frosty sparkle. The little bird was also coloured with Maimeri Acrylic in Bronze, love love love this colour!!

Tracy
Altered wooden Doorstop

I had so much fun altering this little wooden doorstop with a mixture of Pan Pastels, Metallic Pan Pastels, Maimeri Gels and Mediums, scraps of paper and words from book pages. You can see more over on my blog here.

Terry I had a blast with the fabulous Metallic PanPastels, love the colours and the shine they give. I altered a photoframe and used the Wendy Vecchi technique of stamping onto Modelling Paste and I can tell ya that works just wonderfulll. The borders of the frame are worked on with Gesso, Modelling Paste and the Roses/Butterfly stencil and a honeycomb stencil. The butterflies are covered with Iridescent Paste and on top Metallic PanPastels. To cover it all I painted with the Metallic Acrylic Paints.

Suzi I had lots of fun transforming an old ribbon reel into a pretty pin pot, using White Gesso, Glassy Gel Medium and Light Modelling Paste to create my embellishments.

Wood Art with Pan Pastels Tutorial. . .

Hi everyone, Tracy here today and I am soooo excited to be sharing a little of my wood art with you all!
It`s so simple to create . . . honest . . . all you will need is a lump of wood, the piece I used was laying around at my allotment . . . I didn`t sand it as I love the roughness of texture, but I did give it a quick coat of Acrylic White Paint.
In the picture above I`ve said "1 die cut star " but I ended up using 3 to give it more dimension.
I`ve used the
Wplus9 - Clear cut Stackers -Stars
but you could just doodle a star and cut it out.
 The pretty papers are from
Authentique Joyous 6x6 paper pad collection
beautiful, warm rich colors.
But you can use whatever scraps of paper you have!
I added some more of the papers down the sides and along the top to box it all in.
After getting messy with a mixture of Pan Pastels from Mixed Media sets 1 &
along with a few of the new Metallic Pan Pastels
it was time to . . . doodle doodle doo all over with a fine black liner pen
followed by some . . .
Pink Paislee - She Art{Christy Tomlinson}Border & Doily Rub ons
Loooove them, just saying!
Finishing with a few Word stickers and some Glossy Gel over the surface.
What once was a lump of wood is now a gift for someone`s Christmas . . . 1 down and more to go,lol!

I hope you enjoyed my makeover and if you have a go, we would love to see what you create.
Happy Crafting
xoxo

So let's get to the challenge!....

ANYTHING GOES

This week we want to show you some of the amazingly great effects you can get when you mix Pan Pastels together with other Mediums...many people don't really understand what mediums really are and how they can be used in your crafting projects so hopefully we can show you some great ideas this week.

Maimeri have a range of mediums which are just brilliant. There are many mediums on the market but not all are equal and when it comes to quality you need to buy the best you can afford because the quality really does make a difference. Generally, the cheaper the product, the more watered down it will be. A medium is a 'liquid'/paste material which is generally multi-purpose. Here are the Maimeri mediums and what you can use them for....

1. Maimeri GESSO...Gesso is an art medium which basically acts as a sealer and an undercoat. Traditionally, artists have always used it to seal their canvas so that the paint doesn't soak through the fabric too much. Think of it in the same terms that you would seal or undercoat your walls and woodwork at home before you decorate. Use Gesso as a base coat on canvas, mdf, chipboard, paper, card, wood - anything which is absorbent. It's a low cost product which will help you to save on using too much paint or ink which costs more money. It dries to a matt finish and can be mixed with Pan Pastels, acrylics and mica powders to colourise it. Goes on white and dries white.
2. Maimeri LIGHT MODELLING PASTE...this is fantastic! This paste is like a liquid clay - you can use it in lots of different ways to make texture and embellishments. Try adding it to silicon moulds and allowing it to dry overnight - you can make your own embellishments! It is really lightweight compared to clays and other mediums.
3. Maimeri GLOSS Gel....this is similar to Gesso but leaves a glossy surface. Goes on white but dries clear.
4. Maimeri Iridescent Paste...Again, this has the same properties as Maimeri Gesso but will give you a pearl, iridescent finish - gorgeous! Goes on white and stays Pearlised white.
5. Maimeri Glassy Gel....we all LOVE this! Once dry this gel is completely transparent and gives a high gloss finish - you can apply it in a thick layer to make it raised and give an embossed look...again mix it with pigmented colour to change the colour of it - it's great for making specific areas on a project really 'pop'. You can really get dimensional effect with this, great for applying little glossy drops, water effects etc. Goes on opaque and dries clear.
6. Maimeri Matt Gel...The same as the Gloss Gel, but matt. No brainer! Dries clear.
7. Retarder Gel...this extends the drying time of Acrylic paints and increases the brilliance of colour - so if you work in a warm area and your paints dry quickly you need a retarder gel!

We hope this helps you understand the Maimeri range and why we all love them so much on the Design Team - they help us achieve some fantastic effects!

So let's get on and see what the team have made this week! Don't forget, our theme is Anything Goes and you have until Tues 12th November to enter! We pick a random winner so everyone has an equal chance of winning goodies but also pick our favourite 3 entries too. Go create!...

Zoe: I've mixed Pan Pastels with Matt gel medium, check out my blog to see more.
Claire I've mixed Maimeri Glassy gel with glitter, let it dry and die cut it to create sparkly snowflakes to embellish my card. The gelli plate background was made with one of the gorgeous new masks from Premium Art Brands using PanPastels and Maimeri Iridescent medium. I've made a frost edge around the image and the background by mixing glitter, shaved ice and mica flakes with some more glassy gel. The image is coloured with Graph'It Markers.
Terry I worked on the background with Metallic PanPastels and Gesso with Iridescent Paste. On top another layer with Metallic Pans.and to finish the background I played with Crackle....the flowers were made with Versamark Embossing ink and white embossingpowder. The background I made with the Metallic Pans and water, I love the effect it gives. The butterflies were worked on with Metallic Pans and Iridescent Paste.
Tracy - Hi everyone, today I have an idea for my Christmas cards to share with you all using Maimeri Iridescent and Light Modelling Pastes to which I added Pan Pastels and Metallic Pan Pastels. I love the textures and age it has added along with a beautiful pearlescent sheen. This idea has been created in my old book that I journal in with a list of what I have used on the opposite page, want to see more? Then please stop on by my blog here.
So there is our inspiration from the fabulously talented Pan Pastel UK team this week!...
