Go Grungy Challenge

Claire  I've made a grungy but girly card using PanPastels, Maimeri Light Modelling Paste and a Pronty Stencil. I created the heart shape by cutting a heart from copier paper and laying the stencil over it, then I applied the Light Modelling Paste coloured with Magenta PanPastel. You can find all the products I've used here and more details on the project on my blog

Terry I thought I would make allmost the same card but slighty different for the inspiration week. I worked with Grungy papers, the Dutch Doobadoo Honeycomb stencil with Light Modelling Paste, Metalllic PanPastels on the Grungy Heart and the borders of the Die. The Sentiment is from the fabulous new stampset from Premium Craft Brands

Lou: I decided to do a "pretty(ish) grunge" project this week and make a mini clip board using the new range of stamps coming soon from PCB. I have used the same colour palate as I did last week (raw umber, magenta and metallic bronze) but have deliberately kept the blending softer.

Go Grungy

You've got two whole weeks to link up your project to be in with a chance to win some gorgeous goodies from Premium Craft BrandsYou don't have to use our products to enter but of course we love it when you  do!

Before we get to our DT projects, just a quick heads up that our talented Nikky Hall will be on Create and Craft on 29th April demonstrating PanPastels and lots of other goodies including some scrummy products from Dutch Doobadoo!!

So lets see what our DT have come up with to inspire you, make sure you check out Lou's fabby tutorial too!

Claire  - I've created a canvas using Dutch Doobadoo stencils, Maimeri Light Modelling Paste, and of course lots of  PanPastels in Raw Umber, Copper, Gold, Burnt Sienna and Turquoise. The images are coloured with my PanPastels and I've used Maimeri Bronze acrylic paint for the flower...

Anjie - My project started out life as a cheap £1 canvas. I started off by covering it with a cheap emulsion paint. I then mixed some Maimeri Light Modeling Paste with the Orange Pan Pastel and placed the Butterfly caught Mask/stencil 12x12" over the canvas and applied the mix around the outer part and the inner part of the stencil. I then mixed the Orange Extra Dark Pan Pastel into the paste and applied that through the middle part of the stencil. I then used the Dark Orange PP around the edge of the canvas to distress it and the used Black Pan Pastel right at the edge of the canvas. I used the same Pan Pastels to colour the lace, the clay flowers and the stamps, and the paste mixed with the PP's to cover a silver ornament that broke off of a Christmas bauble.

Here are the products I used:
Terry - hey there guys I made a Grungy card for my Mom, I worked on the background with the DD honeycomb stencil and grungy papers, played with a sentiment stamp. In the middle I placed a die and on top I have worked on the butterflies with Metallic PanPastels and crackle and some metall wings. A few hearts colored with PanPastels and sentiment finish my project for this weekend.

Lou: I have altered a note book this week and am still on my mission to use up lots of my precious bits and bobs. I have written a tutorial on my blog explaining how I created all the layers and how I used up those crafty bits you can't throw away! I would be chuffed to bits if you popped over .....

Close up of some of the embellies added to my finished background.

Nikky I love grungey themes, you can go so many different ways with grunge. For my make this week I am showing you this fabulous storage cabinet which is from Dutch Doobadoo range and is blank MDF. I covered it with my favourite papers from my Picknix 1 collection and added lots of Burnt Sienna and Black PanPastels instead of using Distress Inks. You can see more of what I did and how over on my blog.

The products I used are:

Together with lots of different pieces of Doobadoo which you can find HERE

Tracy - Happy Easter everyone, here`s my take on the grunge challenge . . .

. . . altered mdf set of mini drawers all grunged up with pretty papers and Pan Pastels.
All the details and products used can be found over on my blog here.

PRETTY SHABBY CHIC Inspiration

Good morning, I hope you're all having a lovely crafty weekend. Our DT have been busy bees creating some gorgeous inspiration projects for our current challenge

Pretty Shabby Chic

we've had some gorgeous entries so far but there's still plenty of time to play along. You don't have to use PanPastels to enter but we love it when you do. Our lucky winner will receive a fab prize of gorgeous goodies from Premium Craft Brands

Right then, lets have a look at the inspiration projects from our DT

Claire  I've altered an MDF heart. I've used Maimeri Gesso coloured with ultramarine Blue PanPastel, once that was dry I used Maimeri Light Modelling Paste through the gorgeous Dutch Doobadoo Mosiac Stencil. I used red line tape to create a border and once the LMP was dry added Gold PanPastel (loooove this stuff!!). I've coloured the image with Graph'It Markers and added Butterflies, Honeycomb and Feathers from Dutch Doobadoo

Terry hey there guys, did you know what fun you can have with a little envelope and attaching it to a Bottle Label.....well I was playing with one and it is such fun to make.

Remember the first picci that is the front of a Bottle label, I worked on the back with the same Shabby Chic papers and colored the butterfly with PanPastels just like the heart, the borders have ink on it and I placed some lace, roses and a sentiment. More detaills are on my blog

Lou: I am still on a mission to use up old papers and embellies that are still too precious to throw away but are "still not me" or if I'm being truly honest, I don't know what to do with! This week I have used my pan pastels first to age the papers and then add highlights in selected areas. I repeated the process with all the diecuts too.

The butterflies were stamped with Perfect medium and then coloured with my pan pastels and the fabric label has been aged too.

So lets see what the DT have been busy creating for inspiration for the new challenge......

Claire  I had loads of messy fun altering the cover of a Next directory to create an art journal cover. After priming with a coat of Maimeri Gesso  I used  Maimeri Light Modelling Paste through the Fabric  and Mosaic stencils from Dutch Doobadoo for some texture. I added some colour with Turquoise Tint and Magenta Tint PanPastels and used Gold PanPastel for some shimmer. Next came lots of die cuts, again coloured up with PanPastels, I used a touch of Raw Umber to distress things here and there. The die cut flowers were made by using Maimeri Iridescent Paste on fabric, I brushed the paste on and then added a little colour by dusting over with my PanPastels and blending with a brush. I sprinkled on a little clear gitter and left it to dry for a couple of hours before die cutting the flowers and layering them up

Terry I had me some fun with a Bottle Label from Dutch Doobadoo...I worked on the background with Shabby Chic papers, lots of butterflies, Varens Honeycomb Card-SoftBoard and the large butterflies are colored with PanPastels, placed some lace and  and various roses.

Tracy - Hello sweet friends, I spent a happy time in my shed mixing a few Pan Pastels with Gesso to create the colours I wanted for my shabby chic project today. Let me introduce you to  . . .
 The keeper of our Dreams
More details over on my blog. xox

Anjie - I've decided to go pretty this week to show how versatile the products are, you don't have to be a grungy or arty crafter, you really can use them for anything! I have embossed a piece of card using the stencil and have then coloured through it using the Turquoise Tint - Pan Pastel & Magenta Shade - Pan Pastel. I have used the Spun Sugar distress ink around the edges of the paper and card after using a file to slightly distress them. I have made the bow from Spider web.

Lou: for my project I have decided to use Pan Pastels to alter the colour of my papers and embellishments to create my shabby chic card. I have covered my papers in white Maimeri acyrlic paint and then altered their colour using Raw Umber, Titanium White and Permanent Red Tint pan pastels. For my flowers, I have coloured them first using Permananet Red Tint and Ultramarine Blue pan pastels and then brushed over with Titanium White with a wet paint brush. This breaks down the fibers of the paper flowers and allows me to manipulate them (as well as softening the colours).

I also stamped the images using Raw Umber pan pastel by creating a water mix and then applying this to my stamp. it creates a "washed out" and aged feel to my image.

My project has then been finished with some ribbon offcuts, a chipboard button and die cuts.
